hands-on-ears

The Catholic Church runs on very little money.  No Catholic Bishop decrees:  “Give us ten percent of your pre-tax income!”  The cost of Prosperity Protestantism:

Prosperity Protestantism’s pastors proclaim:  “The Bible says to give 10%!  That’s 10% of your income!”

Think about that!  A struggling family is expected to total up their income.  They must include deductions for Social Security (7-14%), Workers Compensation (3%), property taxes (3%) and medical plans (7%).  The 5%-45% of their income tax payments are included in the tithe demands of Prosperity Protestantism.

Catholics see that, and shudder.  “Those people are greedy!”  Catholics know:  It pays to be Catholic!

God’s priest, Melchizedek, did take 10% off the top from Abraham.  Abraham was a very wealthy man.  His followers had far less.  Melchizedek didn’t demand anything from them.

Prosperity Protestants don’t care about that.  “You must give me 10% off the top!  It’s in The Bible!”

“Love your neighbor.” is in The Bible, too.  “I love my neighbor, I just get 10% from them.  It’s for their own good!”  Many Prosperity Protestants do very well by doing good.  Many have private jets and pilots, vast estates, and staggering net worth.

The cost of Prosperity Protestantism:  A Catholic family may give five hundred or a thousand dollars a year to The Catholic Church.  Prosperity Protestantism demands $5,000.00 from that same family!

Ten million Prosperity Protestant families multiplied by five thousand dollars equals:  $50,000,000,000.  Fifty billion dollars!  Half a trillion dollars every decade!

If those ten million families were Catholic, they may donate $1,000.00/year, a mere $10,000,000,000.

If they became Catholics, they would save at least $4,000.00 per year.  That’s $40,000.00 per decade.  In fifty years of giving, a Catholic family saves $200,000.00 by turning from Prosperity Protestantism to The Only Church Jesus Founded!

Far, far more importantly:  Catholics may have their sins forgiven by priests ordained in living link with the Apostles to whom Jesus said, “Those whose sins you forgive on earth are forgiven in Heaven.”  And, we may receive His Actual Body and Blood, obeying the clear call to Catholic Communion He repeated 14 times:  “If you do not eat My Body and drink My Blood you do not have life in you.”

It is best to be Catholic, now and forever.
