Former Catholics make the best Protestants! They were raised with a greater respect for clergy. They set a good example by showing up for services more regularly. Protestant clergy hate to hear: “Pastor Bob, I’m going back to The Catholic Church.”
Older Protestants move to Florida, or even warmer final destinations. That’s why former Catholics have become a very important source of Protestant donations. They are often the difference in a church staying open or having to close. When a prodigal son says, “Pastor Bob, I’m going back to the Catholic Church.” there’s a sinking feeling.

Protestantism has long recognized Catholics as a great source of new members. They study the Market. They realize “Fifteen percent of Americans are former Catholics! That’s about forty five million people! They have money! We need to go get ’em!”

Why do Catholics join other denominations, particularly those whose Marketing Plans describe them as “Evangelical” or “non-Denominational”?
Promises of being “Welcoming”, “Friendly”, “Independent”, “Family oriented”, and “Caring” draw many. The constant anti-Catholic drumbeat from media helps.
“Non-Judgmental” is a popular Protestant sales pitch. “Are you in a relationship that keeps you from receiving The Catholic Sacraments? You are welcome here! We care more about people than about what happens to their souls!”

Most Catholic priests have three or four Masses every weekend. They have weekday Masses. Many have schools to run. There are Baptisms, Confessions, Weddings, Funerals, classes and meetings. They have far more duties to far more people than Protestant clergy.
Some Catholics feel neglected. “Father just doesn’t care about me! I went to another church, and the minister remembered my name! He called me up and thanked me for coming! I like that!“
And, easily divorced and remarried people like to not be bothered with pesky annulments.

Catholic priests continue presiding over the Miracle of Transubstantiation. Only Catholics may obey The Call to Catholic Communion that Jesus repeated fourteen times. “If you do not eat My Body and drink My Blood you do not have life in you.”
Every lapsed Catholic who thinks logically about the infallibility of He Who said that will do what is necessary to return to The Only Church Jesus Spoke Into Being With His Holy Word:
“And I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”
Logical Catholics do not let earthly desires lead them to renounce what Jesus gave to The Catholic Church with His Decree: “I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.”
