. May we all be more obedient to Every Teaching of Jesus Christ!

Question 1: Why do Catholics love to connect This Bible Passage in John 15:14 with Every Teaching of Jesus Christ?

“You are My friends if you obey My commands.

Answer: “Nowhere else does Jesus tell us so clearly what we must do to be forever among His obedient “friends”. That’s why Every Catholic Loves That Passage!

Question 2: “What is the first Bible Passage we connect with that?”

Answer: The next Verse from Jesus! “‘I call you my friends,’ says the Lord, ‘for I have made known to you all that the Father has told me.'” His “friends” know how important it is to “obey”. His best “friends” are the most obedient! What a blessing to connect those two Bible Passages!

Question 3: What happens if we do not connect “You are My friends if you obey My commands.” to Every Teaching of Jesus?

Answer: We cannot see how important it is to obey Every Teaching of Jesus Christ!

A Big Test of Obedience comes up when we connect those Teachings with This Bible Passage from Matthew, 13:44-46.

“Jesus said to his disciples: ‘The Kingdom of heaven is like a treasure buried in a field, which a person finds and hides again, and out of joy goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.'”

Question 4: “Is Jesus telling us that obeying Him is more important than earthly property?

Answer: “Yes.”

Question 5: “Does Jesus repeat how important it is to focus on Him rather than the finest things on earth?”

Answer: Yes! He repeats His Holy Advice, this time to the most successful people! Again, the Kingdom of heaven is like a merchant searching for fine pearls. When he finds a pearl of great price, he goes and sells all that he has and buys it.”

Question 6: “How many of us can do that?”

Answer: All Catholic priests and religious who take Holy Vows of Poverty, Celibacy, and Obedience do that! We are blessed by the examples they provide.
