It is estimated that the human brain can hold a quadrillion “somethings”. They include cells, axons, neurons, molecules, and atoms.
Our brain is filled with messages from outside. Our memories are made of sights, smells, sounds and feelings. Memories contain facts and thoughts. Memories remember compliments and insults, happiness and sadness, elation and depression.
Our memory is filled with things that have come into it. Each memory is among the quadrillion things that are in our brain!

How many things are a “quadrillion”? A billion grains of salt will fit inside a bathtub.
A trillion grains of salt will fill a room!
A quadrillion is all the grains of salt in in a thousand rooms!
There are at least that many things in our brain!
++
Our spirit moves endlessly through our brain. It makes sense of those quadrillion things by choosing some and connecting them together. Our spirit spends its life “thinking”. “Thinking” is joining memories with incoming information to make “thoughts” out of things.
Thoughts become opinions. Opinions guide choices.

Christians know there is more to us than our spirit! We have a soul. Hebrews 4:12 tells us “For the word of God is living and operative and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit. . “
The spirit will die when the body dies. The soul is eternal. While we are alive, the soul may guide the spirit.
The rider of a horse has two choices. A rider may let its horse go where it wants. Or, the rider may keep the horse under control.

There are two kinds of souls. Obedient souls follow God’s Direction. They keep their spirit under control.
All souls must go to Judgment. Catholics know that He Who Fulfilled The Prophecies told us how He will Judge each soul. “You are My friends if you obey My commands.”

A “logical soul” will let itself be “ridden” by God into the Holy “stable” of Heaven. To do so, we must order our spirit to make the best sense of the “quadrillion things” in our brain.
From Abraham to Aquinas, The Logic of God’s Word has led people to make the best use of the “quadrillion things” in our brain.
