How does “wood” connect The Son of Abraham and The Son of God?

Catholics see how “wood” lets us see 4,000 years of the most important people in History.

~

Question 1: “What connection do Catholics make between Abraham and God?”

Answer: “God told Abraham to sacrifice His Son, Isaac, as He would sacrifice His Son, Jesus:

Genesis 22:1-19 tells us: ‘God put Abraham to the test. He called to him, ‘Abraham!’ ‘Here I am,’ he replied. Then God said: ‘Take your son Isaac, your only one whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah. There you shall offer him up as a burnt offering on a height that I will point out to you.’

Question 2: “What other connection is there?”

Answer: “Both Abraham’s son and God’s Son ‘carried the wood’ upon which they would be sacrificed on their ‘shoulders’:

‘On the third day Abraham got sight of the place from afar. Then he said to his servants: ‘Both of you stay here with the donkey, while the boy and I go on over yonder. We will worship and then come back to you.” Thereupon Abraham took the wood for the burnt offering and laid it on his son Isaac’s shoulders,’

Question 3: “Isaac and Jesus ‘carrying the wood on their shoulders’ on which they would be ‘sacrificed on a height’ is an amazing connection. Why did God spare Isaac and not His Own Son, Jesus?”

Answer: “From The Beginning, God let people and peoples start, grow, and die. God could not allow Abraham to violate The Commandment ‘Thou shall not kill’. God knew that His Son would not be killed, but would live, forever.

The Son He Sacrificed left One Law on earth: ‘Love God and love your neighbor as yourself.’

His Law was spoken into Living Form on earth when He said: ‘And I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.’

Catholics carry on God’s Tradition. We strive to ‘sacrifice’ the world-centered ‘Isaac’ within us and strive to be worthy to get ‘the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.’ that God’s Sacrificed Son left on earth to The Only Church He Spoke into Being with His Church-creating Word:

‘And I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.’
