Is Gay Marriage a Pro-Life Issue?

Many people simply dismiss gay marriage and related issues as a satanic plot to divert and devour souls.  The basic question , “Is Gay Marriage a Pro-Life Issue?” is rarely asked, but should be an initial consideration.

When souls are at stake, truth is hard to find.

Some researchers have examined death notices in newspapers and magazines circulating in the gay community.  They calculate that homosexual activity reduces life expectancies by several decades.

One researcher suggested that the life expectancies of homosexual men were similar to those found in society at large in the mid-1800s.  Explanations for this generally center on the infecting and reinfecting with sexually transmitted diseases.  Many feel that this vector of spreading diseases is not possible to stop,  given the behavioral patterns that are reported in the literature.

On the other side of the coin, such research is invariably and universally discounted among all homosexual groups.  They deny that homosexual activity reduces life expectancies.   If the research is correct, and if it is ignored because it gets in the way of vanity, then, truly, “pride goeth before a fall.”

From the Pro-Life point of view, anything that leads to earlier death is an issue of concern.   It is important to determine the facts of differing life expectancies to answer the question “Is Gay Marriage a Pro-Life Issue?”  The facts may be difficult to ascertain.  When souls are at stake, truth is hard to find.
