No one says “Be Catholic!” as clearly as St. John! 3.

St. John was the “most beloved” Disciple!   We see why!  Begin with John 1: 19.   St. John tells us that the Pharisees in the Jerusalem Establishment were very concerned about John The Baptist.

They were desperate to find out!  Was John The Baptist the Prophesied Messiah?  They asked John The Baptist:  “Who are you?  He not only declared, but he declared quite openly, ‘I am not The Christ.'”

John The Baptist knew that was what the Pharisees wanted to know!

The Pharisees were relieved!   Still, they wanted more information!  Their next question:  ‘Well then,’ they asked, ‘are you Elijah?’  ‘I am not.’  he said.”

Then they asked:  “‘Are you The Prophet?’  Again, he answered:  ‘No.'”

~

At that point, their desperation becomes more obvious!  Who are you?  We must take back an answer to those who sent us.  What do you have to say about yourself?” (emphasis added)

“So, John (The Baptist) said ‘I am, as Isaiah prophesied:  ‘A voice that cries in the wilderness:  Make a straight way for The Lord.'”

~

“Now these men had been sent by the Pharisees, and they put this further question to him, ‘Why are you baptizing if you are not The Christ, and not Elijah, and not The Prophet?”

John The Baptist explained!  God told me that Jesus Christ is The Messiah!   “The man on whom you see The Spirit come down and rest is the one who is going to Baptize with The Holy Spirit.   Yes, I have seen and I am the witness that He is The The Chosen One of God.”

~

St. John became a Disciple of Jesus Christ!  “On the following day, as John The Baptist stood there again with two of his disciples, Jesus passed, and John (The Baptist) stared hard at Him and said, ‘Look, there is the lamb of God.'”

St. John began to follow Jesus Christ at the “tenth hour”, around four o’clock in the afternoon.  That is when he realized that John The Baptist had told him “Be Catholic!”

For 2,000 years, those who truly respect God have obeyed The Only Church-Founding Decree of He Who Fulfilled The Prophecies!

“And I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.”
