Obedience is the difference between Catholicism and Protestantism.

Obedience is the difference between Catholicism and Protestantism.  We consider Mt 5: 17-19.  That happens to be one of Today’s Daily Readings in The Church many Protestants claim ignores The Bible:

Jesus said to his disciples:  “Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets.  I have come not to abolish but to fulfill.
Amen, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or the smallest part of a letter will pass from the law, until all things have taken place.

Therefore, whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do so will be called least in the Kingdom of heaven.  But whoever obeys and teaches these commandments will be called greatest in the Kingdom of heaven.”

Since Jesus is God, Catholics see what Protestants do not!  Jesus is here to “fulfill” the law.  Each one of His Teachings is part of “the law” that He has “fulfilled”.

Jesus has divided all people.  Each of us, at Judgment, will be in one of two groups:

  1.  Those who willfully “breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do so”.  OR, we will be among:
  2.   Those who choose to  “obey and teach these commandments.”

Salvation is as simple as that!  The obedient are saved.  The others are “the least in the Kingdom of Heaven.”  Catholics are blessed!  We respect Jesus enough to obey His Great Church-Founding Decree:

“. . I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven. . .”  so we are among those with access to “the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven”.

The disobedient disobey The Only Church Jesus Founded.   What penalty does Jesus promise to the willfully disobedient?

Matthew 10:33 tells us! “Those who deny Me before men I will deny before My Father in Heaven.”  How may anyone sanely choose to reject The Only Church Jesus Founded?
