Our Big Choice, Things or Time.

Most of us want more things. We also want the ability to obtain even more. Collectors of everything abound because the desire for acquisition is one of the things most of us human programs have in common. Many, many, many of our thoughts and conversations begin with the phrases “I want . . . . .” and “I have. . . . .” Nearly every “I have . . . . .” is followed by another “I want . . . . .” We often enjoy rehearsing how we will tell others of what we want, have, just obtained, where we want to go, and where we’ve just been. It’s the way we are.

When we think of having our own soul, the organizing nucleus of our individual human program, moving through time, we realize that children are the only way of extending parts of our individual program into the future. By a great miracle, the very finest men and women among us realize that having children can mean more than having their own. Catholic priests and nuns take vows that preclude them from having their own children.
They understand that their presence, work, knowledge, and faith does more than anything else on earth to produce more souls that are headed for Heaven. Their individual programs, by focusing on time and denying things, has gained joyful eternities for billions over the millennia. We rightfully call our priests “Father”, for the Spirit of The Father lives in them.

Their Vows, of Poverty, Celibacy, and Obedience make them the loving parents of millions in every age.

Those of us having and raising our own children are not in their league. Still, our calling is cherished by The Loving Programmer. We raise our children as well as we can, doing what we can to be sure that their souls will gain as much time in joy as possible.

Each child is like a tree growing from a flat sea of the things around us into the future. We want them and their descendants to be doing so as long as The Creation Program is running.
