Pride is the most dangerous idol. It lives in our mind.

Catholics strive to obey The First Commandment.  “Thou shall have no other gods before Me.”  Adam and Eve chose to put their desires “before” God.  They disobeyed God.   They chose to “eat the forbidden fruit”.

~

Adam and Eve had Free Will.  They let themselves be led to worship the idol of pride.   Pride is the most dangerous idol.  It lives in our mind.

What is “worship”?  Worship is:  “to honor or respect (someone or something) as a god.”

What is “pride”?   Pride is “a feeling or deep pleasure or satisfaction derived from one’s own thoughts, words, and deeds.”

What is an idol?  An idol is “an image or representation of a god used as an object of worship.”

The idol of pride drove Adam and Eve to “eat the apple”.  They worshiped this idol of pride in their minds:  “We know more than God about what is good for us.”

~

God put one, special tree in The Garden.  Jesus put One Church on earth.  Just as God “spoke” Creation into being, Jesus “spoke” One Church Into Being with His Holy Word.

“And I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.”

He Who Fulfilled The Prophecies told us how important it is to obey God.  He told us of the only people He would allow into Heaven.  “You are My friends if you obey My commands.” (emphasis added)

~

Adam and Eve disobeyed God.  Billions of their children have disobeyed Him and His Son.  All who disobey God put the idol of pride before Him.

That idol takes form in the mind with this prideful thought:  “God has to let me into Heaven.”

That idol has a twin.    “Since God has to let me into Heaven, He wants me to think, say, and do what I want.”

~

Those idols are demons.   They live in every human mind!   When we put idols before Him, we put our souls in grave danger.

What happens when we choose to disobey God?   We are no longer among “You are My friends if you obey My commands.”

~

Once, the idol of pride led many to disobey The Father.

For 2,000 years, pride has led many to disobey The Son.  Many believe:  “I think the man who invented my denomination knows more than Jesus about what is good for us!”

Catholics pray that all will understand:

Pride is the most dangerous idol.  It lives in our mind.
