The Programmer is Programming, all’s right with the world.

The wonderful thing about mass communications is that it lets us see how imaginary most problems are. In an instant, lies can be broadcast everywhere and used to change the minds of individuals, guiding them toward ever-less freedom.

The tiny details of the lies are remarkable. In England, Tony Blair wanted to “save electricity by cutting off all power to all products not in use.”

That sort of insanity, saving maybe a tenth of a tenth of a percent of power usage while making things work less well, while causing power surges that outweigh the savings, is the sort of lie that Babylon loves.

We are better to assume that every “problem” is imaginary, that every scare is a lie, and that things are going along pretty well.
