The Protestant Cry: “That’s a metaphor!”

The Protestant cry:  “That’s a metaphor!” when they must face Bible passages they need to avoid.  The Protestant cry:  “That’s a metaphor!” echoes loudly they hear the clear words of Jesus about The Only Church He Founded when He said so clearly to one man, one time:

“Verily, verily I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.”

The Protestant cry:  “That’s a metaphor!” is loud and clear. “Jesus did not mean what He was saying!  What He really meant was that He was building His Church on ‘the little pebble of Peter’s faith’!

When they read that Jesus said:  “If you do not eat My Body and drink My Blood you do not have life in you.” an incredible fourteen times, The Protestant cry:  “That’s a metaphor!” kicks into high gear.  They stutter, they stammer, and come up with:  “Jesus was not a cannibal!”

They cannot bear to connect “I came to divide.” with themselves. He promised to separate “sheep from goats”, “wheat from weeds”, and “good fish from trash fish”.

How does Jesus separate human souls?  He uses His Great Winnowing Command:  “You are My friends if you obey My commands.”

Catholics are respectful, humble, and obedient enough to obey His Clear Teaching about The Only Church Jesus Founded by saying “Verily, verily I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.  I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.”

Catholics receive His Actual Body and Blood at every Catholic Mass since The Last supper!  We are obedient.  We do not avoid the clear call to Catholic Communion Jesus repeated FOURTEEN TIMES:  “If you do not eat My Body and drink My Blood you do not have life in you.”
