Why do some Protestants become Catholic?

Why do some Protestants become Catholic?  Perceptive Protestants discover that their denominations are built on shifting sands.  Generations of Protestants did not approve of divorce.   Then,  “What God has joined together let no man put asunder.” was replaced by “We accept that many feel they should be divorced.”

For hundreds of years, Protestants agreed:  “Abortion is wrong!”   Now, most Protestant Denominations accept:  “A woman has the right to choose to end her pregnancy.”

For earlier generations, “Artificial birth control is wrong!”  Today, Protestants teach that “It is all right to use artificial birth control to avoid having children.”

It gets worse.  Once, Protestants agreed:  “Thou shalt not kill.”  Now, nearly all of  Protestantism agrees:  “People may use artificial birth control, even if it induces abortion and brings death to their unborn children.”

Intelligent Protestants are agonized by such contradictions as:  “The Bible clearly says ‘Thou shalt not kill.’  My denomination says it believes in The Bible.  But, when it comes to abortion-inducing birth control, my denomination teaches ‘It is all right to kill your own unborn children.'”

Some are able to identify Protestantism’s problem:  “We say we believe in The Bible.  But, when donations are threatened, we don’t!”

Perceptive Protestants are in a pickle:  “The Bible says:  ‘Thou shalt not kill.’  If Pastor Bob teaches what The Bible says, he will drive young people away from our church.  His church could close!  He could lose his job!”

“The Bible says ‘Thou shalt not bear false witness.’  My denomination bears false witness by claiming to be ‘Christian’ but it is too fearful of losing donations to obey ‘Thou shalt not kill’.

Why do some Protestants become Catholic?  It is the only way to find consistency on earth.  It is a great relief.  There can be no spiritual or mental health when there are contradictions in our beliefs.

Why do some Protestants become Catholic?  Where else can we find consistency and sanity?
