Respect for Jesus lets Catholics live by Today’s Reading:

What One Word do Catholics see in Today's Reading? The Word "Catholic"!

Today is The Feast of St. Thomas, Apostle.

Catholics know Thomas was the only Disciple who “doubted the Resurrection” of Jesus.  John 20:24-29 explains that when: “The other Disciples said to him ‘We have seen the Lord!’, Thomas replied:  ‘Unless I see the mark of the nails in His hands and put my finger into the nailmarks and put my hand into His side, I will not believe.'”

The Bible tells what happened!  “Now, a week later, His Disciples were again inside and Thomas was with them.  Jesus came, although the doors were locked, stood in their midst and said ‘Peace be with you.'”  Then, Jesus gave Thomas a Direct Order “He said to Thomas, ‘Put your finger here and see My hands, and bring your hand and put it into My side, and do not be unbelieving, but believe.'”

What did Thomas do? “Thomas answered and said to Him, ‘My Lord and My God!'”  He believed so obediently that he became The First Catholic Bishop to bring The Catholic Church to India!  The Catholics of India have been Catholics longer than those of France, England, Germany, the Philippines, and the Americas!

Like the other Disciples, St. Thomas saw the “blessings” of being in The Only Church led by the First Pope, the one person on earth to whom He Who Fulfilled the Prophecies had Decreed:  “And I say unto you, thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.  I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.”  For 2,000 years, His One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church has provided those “keys” to all who would respect Jesus enough to be Catholic.

Then, Jesus made His Great Decree to St. Thomas and to every Catholic who ever lived:  “Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed.”

Only Catholics have obeyed Mark 16:15:  “Go out to all the world and tell the Good News.” and lived by Psalm 117:1-2  by being among those who:  “Praise The LORD, all you nations;  glorify Him, all you peoples.  For steadfast is His kindness for us, and the fidelity of The LORD endures forever.”

Today’s Simple Rhyme:  “Only Catholics have understood / Jesus did not die on the wood.”
