Catholic Fundamentalism is scary. Every moral issue demands a position. Every position is either in accord with God’s will or it is not. Each anti-God position stains the soul. Souls can be so stained they cannot ask forgiveness. They are lost.
Each soul is affected by moral positions. We either worship God or idols. We either commit adultery in thought, word, or deed or we do not. We either steal or we don’t. The ten moral positions may be the actual shape of our soul.
Above are drawings of a ten sided figure. We may assume that the ten facets represent our soul, and that each facet represents how we have been affected by disobedience to the particular operating instruction we have failed to follow on that facet. We may pick our most likely Commandment Violation and see that as the weak point of our soul that must be defended and repaired with prayer.
Or we may visualize our soul as a seven sided figure. Each facet of the seven sided figure represents one of The Seven Deadly Sins, the corrupting viruses that attack, weaken, and destroy our soul’s ability to fit in with God and His Heavenly Kingdom.
It does not matter. It’s an exercise. These simple visualizations may help us focus our requests for Programming Assistance where they will do the most good. The more we think about our souls and the destructive effects of corrupting viruses upon them, the better off we are. Simple visualization may help.
