The Promises of Satan are Empty

Fidel Castro has been running the most brutal, sadistic government in the Americas since the 1400’s, when Aztecs, Mayans, and Incas instituted cannibalistic regimes that fed on human sacrifice.

During his reign, Castro gave the most brutal, vicious, hateful people complete power over the Cuban people.  They slaughtered hundreds of thousands of their neighbors.  They jailed even more.  As they tyrannized their countrymen, they took pains to drive their nation into ever greater poverty.

Castro was not content to destroy his own people.   He exported his torturers, saboteurs, and soldiers to as many nations as he could.  Under his orders, they brought death and pain to millions of people throughout Africa, Venezuela, Guatemala, and Central America.  He did everything he could to destroy the Church, the people of God wherever possible.

Fidel, appearing to retire, made his brother, Raul Castro, CEO of  Cuba.  The prisons are still full.  The poor continue to live miserable lives.  The middle class is gone.  There are only prisoners and guards in the nation-jail.

Fidel Castro is coming to the end of his life.  He has remembered some of what he learned in a Jesuit school as a young man.  He is thinking more about his soul.  A few days ago, The Holy Father visited with the dying Fidel.

The forces of evil  know that The Pope has sent the world a picture that shows that God is strong and that the promises of Satan are empty.

People all over the world are seeing that picture, and asking, “The Pope has the power to forgive a mass murderer?  He has the power to allow the Western Hemisphere’s most brutal political leader in 500 years to get into Heaven?  That means that I, with my comparatively tiny sins, may be forgiven!  I would be a fool not to seek salvation, even after all the wrong that I have done.”
