Today’s Reading from 1 Thess. 5:1-6, 9-11 tells Catholics what we are blessed to know about Time and Space: “Concerning times and seasons, brothers and sisters, you have no need for anything to be written to you.
For you yourselves know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief at night.
When people are saying, ‘Peace and security’, then sudden disaster comes upon them, like labor pains upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.”
Catholics know that“peace and security” are two false gods that keep their worshipers from “staying alert and sober” and unable to “gain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, Who died for us, so that whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with Him.”
Catholics live the words of Psalm 27: 1,4,13-14: “I believe that I shall see the good things of The Lord in the land of the living.” One “good thing” Catholics see is The Church-Creating Word of Jesus Christ to His First Catholic Pope: “And I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.”
Being Catholic lets us be among those blessed to: “Wait for The Lord with courage, be stout-hearted, and wait for The Lord.”
Catholics see that we have “waited for” The Living Prophecy in Today’s “Alleluia” from Luke 7:16: “A great prophet has arisen in our midst and God has visited His people.”
God “visits” Catholics with the understanding that lets us obey His Call to Catholic Communion and The Miracle of Transubstantiation that He repeated 12 times in John 6 and twice more at the Last Supper: “If you do not eat My Body and drink My Blood, you do not have life in you.”
Luke 4:31-37 tells us His “visit” was clear to those He taught in Capernaum because “they were astonished at His teaching because He spoke with authority”, even to “a man with the spirit of an unclean demon who cried out in a loud voice, ‘What have you to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us?”
Catholics and demons share This Word of Wisdom about Jesus that Protestants cannot fully understand: “I know Who YOU Are: The Holy One of God!”
For 2,000 years, “news of Jesus spread everywhere in the surrounding region,” because Catholics and demons most clearly see Who He Is!
What more does anyone need to know to Be Catholic?

Today’s Simple Rhyme: “Catholics and demons understand / Who others miss in every land.”
