Jesus told us how to stay on “The Ladder to Heaven”.
~
Question 1: “Did Jesus Christ identify ‘worldly people’ who keep souls from Heaven?”
Answer: “Jesus told us how to identify them in Mt 24:1-12 ‘The scribes and the Pharisees have taken their seat on the chair of Moses.’”
~
Question 2: “How are we to deal effectively with ‘worldly people’ who claim to know truth?”
Answer: “Jesus told us! ‘Therefore, do and observe all things whatsoever they tell you, but do not follow their example.’”
~
Question 3: “Why should we ‘not follow the examples’ of people who are desperate for worldly things?”
Answer: “Jesus told us how to identify such people:
- ‘For they preach but they do not practice.’
- ‘They tie up heavy burdens (taxes and self-serving regulations) hard to carry and lay them on people’s shoulders,’
- ‘but they will not lift a finger to move them
4. ‘All their works are performed to be seen.’ In every age, ‘worldly people’ do the same things:
5. ‘They widen their phylacteries and lengthen their tassels.’ (Surround themselves with the most expensive signs of status.)
6. ‘They love places of honor at banquets, and seats of honor in synagogues, (In every age, they fight to sit at ‘head tables’ and are miserable when they are not.)
7. ‘greetings in marketplaces, (being on television) and the salutation ‘Rabbi.’ (‘Doctor, Excellency, Chancellor, Ambassador, President, Governor, Senator, Representative, Counselor’, Chairman, and every title that puts them before others.)
~
Question 4: “Did Jesus tell us how to cure the vanity that causes such disorders?”
Answer: “Jesus told that true greatness is living in our proper place: ‘You have but one Father in heaven. Do not be called ‘Master’; you have but one master, the Christ.’”
Then, Jesus gives us the ‘unworldly’ advice that every Catholic strives to follow. “The greatest among you must be your servant. Whoever exalts himself will be humbled; but whoever humbles himself will be exalted.”
~
Question 5: “Did Jesus give us a way to show Him we are properly ‘humble’?”
Answer: “Those who are ‘humble’ enough to most meaningfully respect Every Word of Jesus will gratefully obey The Holy Word with Which He Spoke One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church Into Being:
“And I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.”
~
Queston 6: “Is there an Old Testament reading that tells us to obey Jesus and be Catholic?”
Answer: “Psalm 50:22-23 begins with this frightening sentence! ‘Now understand this, you who forget God, lest I start ripping apart and there be no rescuer. Those who offer praise as a sacrifice honor Me; I will let him whose way is steadfast look upon the salvation of God.’
May all be blessed to be Catholic, have ‘the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven’, and ‘look upon the salvation of God.’”
Forever.
