What is our deadliest enemy?

Our deadliest enemy is Pride. Pride is an evil spirit. Our other vanities are lower-level evil spirits. They all sing the praises of Pride. What song do they sing?

Evil spirits repeat the unholy chorus! “You are smart! You are right! You know more than Jesus Christ!”

That is a tempting song! Those vanities justify the Pride of Protestantism! “I do not have to obey Jesus! I only have to say that ‘I believe in Him!’ That is all I need to do!”

~

That Pride of Protestantism is dangerous for one reason! It is close to truth!

1. Protestantism does recognize that Jesus Christ is The Second Person of The Holy Trinity.

2. Protestantism does understand that Jesus Christ did Fulfill the Prophecies!

3. Protestantism does teach that Jesus Christ is The Prophesied Messiah.

~

What mistake does Protestantism make? It justifies our disobedience to Any Teaching of Jesus Christ we don’t like! Pride always leads many to disobey This Teaching of Jesus Christ:

“And I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.”

~

Then, what does Pride do?

1. Pride keeps us from applying This Teaching of Jesus Christ to our decisions: “You are My friends if you obey My commands.”

2. Pride keeps us from seeing that we cannot get into Heaven if we willfully choose to be among His willfully disobedient enemies!

3. Pride keeps us from understanding this basic fact! “When I willfully disobey Any Teaching of Jesus Christ, I am putting myself ‘before’ God. I am violating The First Commandment!”

~

If we willfully and knowingly refuse to be among the obedient “friends” of Jesus Christ, we have willfully chosen to break The First Commandment.

May we all be blessed to overcome that Pride!

Catholics know! This prayer to St. Michael brings Powerful Forces to our defense!

“St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.

May God rebuke him we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.

Amen.”
