The Psalms, Prophets, Jesus, and His obedient followers agree: “Be Catholic!”

Question 1: “What is The Most Important Thing we may ask God to do for us?”
Answer: “Today’s Reading includes two short verses from Psalm 119. Verse 29 tells us to ask God to: ‘Lead me from the way of deceit, favor me with Your law’. Verse 36 encourages us to ask God to align our thinking with His: ‘Direct my heart toward Your testimonies and away from gain.’”

Question 2: “Why are those Instructions so important?”
Answer: “They remind us that we have an immortal soul that will go to God’s Judgment. Souls from those who have tried to be obedient to God may get into Heaven. Others may not!”

Question 3: “Why is getting our soul into Heaven so important?”
Answer: “Our soul will live forever in one of two places. It will either have eternal joy in Heaven or the endless agony of burning in what The Last Book in The Bible reveals is ‘the lake of fire’ (Rev 22:15).”

Question 4: “Did other Prophets tell us to obey God instead of their own desires?”
Answer: “Isaiah 29:13 makes it clear: ‘This people honors me with their lips, but their hearts are far from Me; In vain do they worship Me, teaching human precepts as doctrines’.”

Question 5: “Does the Word: ‘in vain do they worship Me’ mean that those who put ‘human precepts before God’ will spend eternity in ‘the lake of fire’?”
Answer: “The Son of God, The Second Person of The Holy Trinity, warned us in Mark 7:1-13 about putting ‘human precepts’ above God’s Word! ‘You nullify the word of God in favor of your tradition that you have handed on.’ And, Jesus was clear about their other violations of God’s Word! ‘And you do many such things.’”

Question 6: “What happens to the immortal souls of people who willfully choose to ‘nullify God’s Word’?”
Answer: “They cannot go to The Judgment of Jesus and be among those described in John 15:14: ‘You are My friends if you obey My commands.’ They go to The Last Judgment among His willfullly disobedient enemies.”

May all be blessed to strive for the basic, Catholic obedience to live by This Word of Jesus Christ and get the only “keys to The Kingdom of Heaven” that He gave to The Church He Spoke Into Being with His Word:
“And I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.”
May all be blessed to not put any “human precepts” before that actual, Church-Creating Word of God and ask Him to let us “Be Catholic!”
