Viruses and Demons
Catholic Fundamentalism believes there are seven basic types of living viruses that work to corrupt us human programs. Those viruses are living versions of the Seven Deadly Sins; Pride, Envy, Greed, Gluttony, Anger, Lust, and Sloth. The viruses of Sloth would be higher on the list, if they would, contrary to their natures, work a little harder.
The most powerful of our spiritual enemies are the Viruses of Pride. They swarm through our part of The Creation Program, though largely eliminated from the souls and minds of the most holy human programs.
When the viruses of Pride get into a mind, they keep it from thinking, let alone comprehending, that its files are corrupted with self-importance.
The other types of Viruses are quick to follow. In the Bible’s quantified case of Viral Corruption in a human being, (Mark 5, 1-20), there were 2,000 corrupting viruses in one, single human being. If we divide 2,000 by the seven kinds of viruses, we see there may be 286 separate kinds of virus/demons within each family of living sins.
Kinds of Viruses and Demons
Some of the easiest living viruses we can identify are those that encourage us to corrupt our own programs with lust. They are easy to catch and pray away. Envy is another obvious virus. It’s easy for us to notice ourselves looking longingly at something we think we’d like to have more than we should.
Anger Viruses are easy to recognize, accompanied by harsh words, rising blood pressure, and desires for revenge. When we see that Anger Viruses make themselves visible when our Pride is threatened, we can “kill two viruses with one prayer” if we ask The Loving Programmer to help us get rid of Anger by reducing Pride.
The viruses of Greed and Gluttony are also easy to spot. Learning to say “No.” as we pass by second helpings of everything keeps them in line.
The deadliest manifestation of Sloth is when we catch ourselves saying, “I’ll do that later.” when we think about reducing the influence that the other Tribes of Viruses have upon us.
