The new software blew apart the old hardware.

The Church has special Scripture readings every day.  Today’s reading applies directly to Catholic Fundamentalism.  When we compare the new wine to new, more powerful software, we see why we human programs had to have The Church downloaded to provide access to it.

Gospel Mark, 2:18-22

” . . . . . . .  ‘No one sews a piece of unshrunken cloth on an old cloak.
If he does, its fullness pulls away,
the new from the old, and the tear gets worse.
Likewise, no one pours new wine into old wineskins.
Otherwise, the wine will burst the skins,
and both the wine and the skins are ruined.
Rather, new wine is poured into fresh wineskins.’ “

Catholic Fundamentalism updates the new cloth that can’t be effectively fastened to the old and the new wine that can’t be poured into old wineskins.  That update shows its parallel with new software and old hardware in our own day and age.  A huge New Program will blow apart the old hardware.  The new software needed new hardware.

The living Son of God was far too big a download for the old religious structure to hold.  Those who vainly lock themselves into the limiting reality of the earlier processors can’t fully understand what’s happened to separate B.C. from A.D.

Many have hated the new, better software and hardware simply because it is available to all who wish to access and download as much as they desire about The Loving Programmer, The Program, and the Holy Wireless Connector.  “They’re getting closer to God than we are!”, the scribes and pharisees complained.  “Our jobs are at stake!”

Disregarding such human concerns, The Roman Catholic Church lets every human program in The Creation Program fully access The Program. The Church helps us elevate the lovingly programmed essence of our individual human program.  It lets us join our immortal soul, around which our spirit, mind, and body are downloaded, with He Who lovingly wrote and downloaded us within the larger Creation Program.

We individual human programs  were downloaded within the free will-providing Creation Program.  That makes our free choice to believe and obey so meaningful that, if we make the right choice, our joy will be both complete and forever.

When Jesus, The Program in perfect, obedient, human form, downloaded Himself on earth, the Old Hardware couldn’t hold Him.  The Church did, does, and will.
