Basking in the approval of liars

False worship preceded and followed,  “The Thousand Year Reign” of The Only Church Jesus Founded over Christendom.  Five hundred years ago, when “the dragon was unchained from the abyss”, Christendom was divided among what would fracture into tens of thousands of schisms, each invented by an ambitious man with a Marketing Plan.  They are basking in the approval of liars.

Many become multi, multi-millionaires.  They fly in private jets, live in vast mansions, and have their heartfelt plea for money broadcast across nations.  They have made successful businesses out of proclaiming their personal, and profitable, doctrines.

The Only Church Jesus Founded begins Lent with good reason to be Catholic from His words in Mt. 6:1-6,  “When you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, who love to stand and pray in the synagogues and on street corners so that others may see them.  Amen, I say to you, they have received their reward.
But when you pray, go to your inner room, close the door, and pray to your Father in secret.  And your Father who sees in secret will repay you.

When you fast, do not look gloomy like the hypocrites. They neglect their appearance, so that they may appear to others to be fasting.  Amen, I say to you, they have received their reward.”

What is the “reward” that “they have received”?

Their reward is not the approval of those who see through the pretense of ostentatiously pretending to be holy.   Most can spot phonies.  So can God.   So, what is their reward?

Their reward is the phony approval of those who see the phony pretense, but want to be approved by the pretender by seeming to approve of the pretense.  “I saw you praying yesterday.  You really looked holy!”

“I didn’t realize anyone had noticed!  I really do love The Lord.  Sometimes, I just have to praise Him!”

Both people in the conversation know the other one is lying.  That is the reward!  Basking in the approval of liars.
