Catholics often hear our Protestant friends say,  “I am not a Catholic because: ______.”  How do Catholics respond?

Part of being Catholic is listening to reasons people have to avoid The Only Church Jesus Founded.  All Protestantism is based on getting around:  “Verily, verily I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.”

Less intellectual Protestants are taught to say, “I am not a Catholic because the word ‘Catholic’ is not in The Bible.'”

How do Catholics respond?  We may say, “The word ‘Lutheran’, (or whichever of their 45,000 denominations they’re in) is not in The Bible, either.  To pass The Consistency Test, all Protestants would have to leave their denominations for the same reason they use to avoid The Only Church Jesus Founded.”

Those suffering from appalling historical ignorance say:  “I am not a Catholic because Constantine started the Catholic Church 200 years AFTER Jesus.”

How do Catholics respond?  “The Disciples were The First Catholic Bishops.  We know that because they founded Catholic Churches from India to Spain.  Those Catholic Churches sent Catholic Representatives to Catholic Councils for hundreds of years.  Those Church Councils were convened by Catholic Successors to St. Peter, the first Catholic Pope.  The Catholic Church began when Jesus said:  “Verily, verily I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.”

Catholics often hear this absurdity:  “Catholics worship idols.”

How do Catholics respond?  “Was God wrong to have Moses put golden images of angels on The Ark of The Covenant?  Was Moses wrong to obey God and put them there?  Do you know more than God and Moses?  The Only Church Jesus Founded merely follows God’s example of providing reminders of those who obeyed Him as His angels did.”
