Christmas helps everyone focus on getting our soul closer to God. #35

Catholics know that  Mary gave us The Greatest Christmas Gift of all:  Two Thousand Years of Saving Grace from God through His Son!

~

Question 1:  “How does Christmas help everyone focus on God and our soul?”

Answer:  “Christmas connects us with God, The Old Testament, and The New Testament.  We connect with The Prophet Isaiah’s Words in Isaiah 7:10-14 that include:  ‘Then Isaiah said:  Listen, O house of David!  Is it not enough for you to weary men, must you also weary my God?  Therefore the Lord himself will give you this sign:  the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall name him Emmanuel.‘”

~

Question 2:  “Do The Psalms reinforce that?”

Answer:  “Psalms 24:1-6 include This Reponse:  ‘Let The Lord enter;  He is The King of Glory.’

‘The Lord’s are the earth and its fullness;  the world and those who dwell in it.  For He founded it upon the seas and established it upon the rivers.

Who can ascend the mountain of The Lord?  Who may stand in His holy place?  He whose hands are sinless, whose heart is clean, who desires not what is vain.

The next Psalm identifies the ‘race’ of people who may get their souls into Heaven!  ‘He shall receive a blessing from The Lord, a reward from God his savior.  Such is the race that seeks for Him, that seeks the face of the God of Jacob.’

~

Question 3:  “How does The Lord ‘enter’ into the world and our lives so that one ‘race’ of immortal souls may ‘enter’ into Heaven?”

Answer:  “This Word from Luke 1:26-38 tells us!  ‘In the sixth month, the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a town of Galilee called Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man named Joseph, of The House of David, and the virgin’s name was Mary.’

~

Question 4:  “What did God’s Angel tell Mary?”

Answer:  ‘And coming to her, he said, Hail, (Mary) full of grace! The Lord is with you.’

~

Question 5:  “How did Mary respond?”

Answer:  “Mary did what every woman would do!  ‘But she was greatly troubled at what was said and pondered what sort of greeting this might be.’

~

Question 6:  “How did The Angel respond to Mary’s concern?”

Answer:  “‘Then the angel said to her, ‘Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.  Behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name him Jesus.  He will be great and will be called Son of the Most High, and the Lord God will give Him the throne of David his father, and hHe will rule over the house of Jacob forever, and of his Kingdom there will be no end.’

~

Question 7:   Did Mary have more questions?”

Answer:  “A woman always has more questions!  ‘But Mary said to the angel, ‘How can this be, since I have no relations with a man?'”
And the angel said to her in reply, ‘The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. Therefore the child to be born will be called holy, the Son of God.
Then, The Angel gave Mary all the ‘proof’ she needed!  ‘And behold, Elizabeth, your relative, has also conceived a son in her old age, and this is the sixth month for her who was called barren;  for nothing will be impossible for God.’

~

Question 8:  “Was that enough ‘proof’ of God’s Power to let Mary obey God’s Word?”

Answer:  “‘Mary said, ‘Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord.  May it be done to me according to your word.’  Then the angel departed from her.’

~

May we all be blessed to tell God that we strive to be in the chosen ‘race’ of people who want to be as obedient to His “Word” as Mary was.  Mary has given us The Most Wonderful Reason to be in The Only Church Her Son Spoke Into Being with His Church-Creating Word!

“And I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.  I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.”!
