Today’s Catholic Reading begins with The Book of Habakkuk 1:2-3, 2:2-4. It is in the Apocrypha, the Seven Books that Protestants removed from their Bibles. It starts with the cry to God for help from every Believer in History!
“How long, O LORD? I cry for help, but You do not listen! I cry out to You, ‘Violence!’, but You do not intervene. Why do You let me see ruin; why must I look at misery?” Every believer sees sins like abortion and war killing billions of people and agrees with Habakkuk! “Destruction and violence are before me; there is strife, and clamorous discord.”
“Then, The LORD answered me and said: ‘Write down the vision clearly upon the tablets, so that one can read it readily. For the vision still has its time, presses on to fulfillment, and will not disappoint.”
Catholics put that in perspective. We realize that God is telling Habakkuk, and every believer in every age, that The Creation Program was written and began to be downloaded more than 13 trillion light-years ago when The Loving Programmer said: “Let there be light, and there was light.”
We humans, God’s beloved Replicating Free-Will Programs, are given this Operating Instruction from Habakkuk that explains what to do when we are upset by the evils we see in The Creation Program: “If it (God’s “time”) delays, wait for it, it will surely come, it will not be late.”
Then, we see why Catholics kept The Book of Habakkuk in The Bible! God told Habakkuk, and us, what “integrity” is and how we could have it! “The rash one has no integrity; . . .”
The “rash one” is the Living Virus and all he can infect with the same vanity: “If God will not give me what I want when I want it, I will do whatever you must to get it!” Those people have “no integrity” because they commit the worst of sins: “I know more than God about what I should have and I will bear false witness, steal, or kill to get it when I want it!”
All of the “rash ones” will die to God and Heaven, but “. . . but the just one, because of his faith, shall live.”
Catholics see why Habakkuk is in The Bible! He helps us obey The Only Church-Creating Word Spoken at God’s proper “time” by He Who fulfilled over 300 Messianic Prophecies when “the vision passed on to fulfillment”. That is when Jesus made His soul-saving Decree take form in His One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church:“And I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.”
