God’s IQ Test. #61. “Do I think about St. Joseph as a Good Father?

.                                                                     St. Joseph:  the greatest Father on earth!

Catholics know what Mary said to The Archangel Gabriel:  “(Yes), I will be the handmaid of The Lord.”  Her Perfect Obedience allowed God to take Human Form on earth.

Question 1.  “Who would take care of Mary and Jesus?”

Answer:   St. Joseph!  He completed The Holy Family.

~

Question 2.  “What do we know about St. Joseph?”

Answer:    He obeyed God’s call to take care of Mary and Jesus.

~

Question 3.  “What did St. Joseph do next?”

Answer:  He obeyed the order to go to Bethlehem for a census.   He took care of Mary and the unborn Jesus every step of the way.  He found a place where Jesus could be born.

~

Question 4.  “What happened in Bethlehem?”

Answer:   Three astronomers from Babylon arrived.  Two or three thousand years of studying and recording the movements of Heavenly Bodies told them “Something big is going to happen!”

Then, another surprise!  The Three Wise Men gave St. Joseph easily carried gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh worth tens of thousands of dollars!

Question 5.  “What did St. Joseph do next?”

Answer:  He obeyed God’s Instruction to take The Holy Family to Egypt.  God had two reasons.  First, to protect Jesus from the hired assassins Herod sent to kill him.  Second, to let The Amazing Prophecy, “I have called The Messiah out of Egypt.” be fulfilled.

~

Question 6.  “What Order from God did St. Joseph obey next?”

Answer:  St. Joseph obeyed God’s call to return to Israel.  We may assume that such a prudent man still had money from The Wise Men!

~

Question 7.  How did St. Joseph support The Holy Family?

One answer:  Romans were building administrative offices.  Bureaucrats were building houses and mansions.  St. Joseph bought expensive iron tools to do complicated carpentry and construction work.  His success gave The Holy Family the income to take the expensive trip to Jerusalem to present Jesus in The Temple.

Trusted employees kept his business going while he was away.  Throughout his career, St. Joseph successfully and honorably negotiated his way between the politics involved in finances and endless building inspectors looking for bribes

Good fathers still do that while taking care of their families.

~

Question 8.  “What did St. Joseph do when He and Mary could not find Jesus among others on the trip home?”

Answer:  He and The Blessed Mother returned to Jerusalem.  They finally found Jesus in The Temple.  Jesus spent the next years in obedience to His Mother and St. Joseph.

~

Question 9.  “Should every Father on earth strive to love God and take care of their family the way St. Joseph did?”

Answer:   “Yes!”
