It’s Not Enough to Know There is Only One God

One God

Today’s reading is from James, 2.  In it, he makes this point:

You believe that God is one.
You do well.  (Sarcasim?)
Even the demons believe that and tremble.

Obviously, there is One God.  While believers and religions may say  “God is One.”, that gives them little credit.  Those who write and download viruses know a great deal about the computer programs they want to corrupt.  Similarly, the demons, living viruses who work to corrupt us human programs, understand a great deal about The Loving Programmer and His programs.

It’s Not Enough to Know There is Only One God

Those who try to corrupt His programs know about Him.  They know that He is One.  By itself, the fact that we recognize His Oneness doesn’t get us any closer to Heaven than it does the demons who recognize the very same fact.

Good deeds must accompany the knowledge that God is One before it does us any good.
