Every day, The Only Church Jesus Founded has Readings from the Old Testament, the Psalms, and The New Testament. Today, all the readings tell us: “Be Catholic!”
Is 26:1-6 describes both Jerusalem of old and The Church through which Jesus provides life to His most obedient followers: “On that day they will sing this song in the land of Judah: “A strong city have we; he sets up walls and ramparts to protect us. Open up the gates to let in a nation that is just, (Catholics, that’s us!) one that keeps faith (Catholics, that’s us, too!) A nation of firm purpose you keep in peace; in peace, for its trust in you.” (We, in the Only Church still completely faithful to every teaching handed down from the Apostles, are “A nation of firm purpose. . .”, so that’s us, as well!
Today, the Psalms tell us to be Catholics, as well: PS 118:1 and 8-9, 19-21, 25-27 R. “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his mercy endures forever. It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in man.” (Again, that’s us Catholics. We did not follow some vain, arrogant Martin Luther, or any of the Pastor Bobs who get into the Protestant Business. We take refuge in The Only Church Jesus Founded. We did not “trust in man”. “It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in princes. (That describes us Catholics, as well. We do not find salvation in Babylon, its idols, and its liturgies, but in The Only Church Jesus Founded.)
Then, another note from The Old Testament, Is 55:6. “Alleluia, alleluia. Seek the LORD while he may be found; call him while he is near.” That is a call to Catholics! We know that “He is near” because “He may be found” at the Mass, the bread and wine having become His Body and Blood at the hands of our priests.
Then, the reading from Matthew 7:”21, 24-27 is especially frightening for anti-Catholics to consider: “Jesus said to his disciples: ‘Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the Kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven. Everyone who listens to these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on rock. The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and buffeted the house. But it did not collapse; it had been set solidly on rock. (We Catholics know that Our Church is the Only Church Unchanged since The Ascension of Jesus. It has come to us, whole and perfect, from Jesus and His Chosen Apostles.) And everyone who listens to these words of mine but does not act on them will be like a fool who built his house on sand. (Since His Words include “Thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I give you The Keys to The Kingdom of Heaven, those are among “these words” which, He tells us, only “a fool” would disregard.) The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and buffeted the house. And it collapsed and was completely ruined.”
In one morning’s reading, striving Catholics are validated by the Word of God. According to He Who Fulfilled the Prophets, all others are “like a fool who built his house on sand”.
Our duty is clear. We must explain that the most important thing anyone has is their Immortal Soul. We want all souls in joy forever, not tormented by endless suffering.
No Protestant can disagree. We must share The Church Jesus Founded with those who, “like a fool who built his house on sand” have put their precious, immortal souls at great risk.
