Children in unhappy families often tend to be unhappy. The worse the family structure, the unhappier the children. There are basically no traditional families in inner cities. Anger grows into hatred of neighbors. It turns into criminal activity.

Many of the unhappiest people end up in jail. Anger multiplies when angry people are jammed together. Hatred, violence, and murder thrive.

No one can go back in time to give an angry adult a happy home with a loving mother and father.

We can point out that their real Father, God, does want the best for them. And, we may point out that His Son, Jesus, came to earth to provide eternal joy to those who believed and obeyed His bizarre command to “Love your neighbor as yourself”.

We may also point out that The Holy Spirit can bring the wisdom of God into the minds of those who ask for it.

Even with The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, every angry person needs a loving mother.

We may help those without loving mothers by explaining that Mary is The Mother of God, the Mother of Mercy, and the Mother of Love. We explain that God’s mother in in Heaven, and she is greatly loved by her Son, Jesus. She is also loved and heeded by The Father, whose daughter she is. And, she is loved by her Spouse, The Holy Spirit.

We share the fact: Mary loves all who call upon her for the love she can ask God to give them: the saving mercy of her Son.

The unhappy, lost, and angry do have a friend. Those in the schisms may not teach the angry how important Mary is. Many choose to think of Mary as something less than The Mother of God.

Catholics recognize the power of Mary’s love. We may, and must, say to the unhappy and angry: “You have a Mother who is not God, but who is very close to Him. She can ask Him to provide you the love, joy, patience, and understanding that you seek. Our mother’s saving love is what you must request. When you do, she will ask God to replace your anger and hatred with love for your neighbors. You will know joy.”
