Greater obedience leads us to being Christ’s friends.  John, 15:14 explains:  “You are My friends if you do what I command you.”

We receive Catholic Communion because He commanded:  “If you do not eat My Body and drink My Blood, you do not have life in you.”   We obey Him by being in the only Church He founded.  He brought it into being by telling the first Pope, “Thou art Peter, and on this rock, I build My Church.”

So, we obey.  It is worse than silly not to do so.  It is smart to strive for greater obedience.

What of those who choose to disobey?

Matthew  12:30 is clear:  “Whoever is not with Me is against Me, and whoever does not gather with Me scatters.”  He is very direct.  Those who separate themselves from Him end up being made to “scatter”.  They find themselves in one of the tens of thousand of schisms.

There is an explanation why some do not understand and obey those clear, direct instructions from Jesus?  They do not have life in some key part of their mind.  That’s what He meant by “life” in “If you do not eat My Body and drink My Blood, you do not have life in you.”

Is Jesus telling us that those who separate themselves from Him by refusing Catholic Communion have a “dead” place in their minds?  If so, He has provided clear instructions for bringing it to life.

Simply do whatever is necessary to receive Catholic C0mmunion.

It is smart to strive for greater obedience.
