God had His Prophet, Ahijah, give ten of the Twelve Tribes to Jeroboam (1 Kings 11:29), leaving Judah and Benjamin under Solomon’s son, Rehoboam.
Today’s Catholic Reading from 1 Kings 12:26-32; 13:33-34 tells us that “Jeroboam thought to himself: ‘The Kingdom will return to David’s House if now this people go up to offer sacrifices in the temple of The LORD in Jerusalem. The hearts of this people will return to their master, Rehoboam, king of Judah, and they will kill me.'”
That’s why Jeroboam quickly decided to “take counsel” with those who would help him keep the ten tribes from returning to Jerusalem. That is a “Hidden Prophecy” predicting that “counselors” usually “counsel” their leader to protect their opportunities for personal gain.
They “counseled” Jeroboam to establish their early Protestant structure on two “golden calves” to be worshiped by their followers.
“Jeroboam did not give up his evil ways after this, but again made priests for the high places from among the common people. Whoever desired it was consecrated and became a priest of the high places.” They built new temples on the usual “high places” and ordained a new, obedient priesthood from those chosen by the “counselors”.
Today’s “Hidden Prophecy” is clear: “This was a sin on the part of the house of Jeroboam for which it was to be cut off and destroyed from the earth.”
Jeroboam and his new religions were a “Hidden Prophecy” that predicted Nicolaitans (50 AD), Arius (300 AD), Luther, Calvin, and Zwingli (1,500 AD), and all the others who were rewarded by helping political leaders gain power in the “Kingdoms of Jeroboam” that followed in every age.
We can identify them today. They all reject this Catholic Teaching: “Life must be protected from conception until natural death.”
When Jeroboam led his followers to reject God’s Temple in Jerusalem, many see the “Hidden Prophecy” predicting those who would reject The One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church Spoken Into Being by The Church-Creating Word of He Who Fulfilled the Prophecies of Jesus, The Messiah:
“And I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.”
