“Bread from Heaven”, then and now.

Catholics realize there has been: “Bread from Heaven”, then and now.  Exodus 16: 1-15 includes:

“Here in the desert the whole assembly of the children of Israel grumbled against Moses and Aaron.  . . .  “Would that we had died at the Lord’s hand in the land of Egypt, as we sat by our fleshpots and ate our fill of bread!  But you had to lead us into this desert to make the whole community die of famine!”

God gave these “first Catholics” an early version of Catholic Communion.  God provided “Bread from Heaven”, then and now.  “Then the LORD said to Moses, ‘I will now rain down bread from heaven for you.  Each day the people are to go out and gather their daily portion;  thus will I test them, to see whether they follow My instructions or not.”  In every age, those who “follow My instructions” were fed with Bread from Heaven.

Just as the Tribes were tested “to see whether they follow My instructions or not”, so all are tested.  Some respect He Who Fulfilled The Prophecies enough to obey The Clear Call To Catholic Communion that Jesus repeated 14 times:  “If you do not eat My Body and drink My Blood you do not have life in you.”

The disobedient denied themselves “Bread from Heaven” in the desert.  They still do.

The words of Jesus,   “I come to divide.”  have separated the obedient from disobedient or 2,000 years.

He was clear:  “You are My friends if you obey My commands.”

Some obey what the disobedient reject, “If you do not eat My Body and drink My Blood you do not have life in you.”

Those who followed Moses received Manna from Heaven.  For 2,000 years,  Catholics have received even Holier Food at every Catholic Mass since The Last Supper, His Actual Body and Blood.  Catholics understand that God’s obedient followers are blessed to receive:   “Bread from Heaven”, then and now.
