The Bible tells us what “body parts” we must keep working well! #59.

Jesus used a “part” of “His Body” to cure a blind man. May we use our “body parts” to help our neighbors see how important it is to obey Jesus.

Question 1: “Do The Psalms tell us to use our ‘body parts’ to do good work?”

Answer: “Psalm 131:1 is clear! ‘O Lord, my heart is not proud, nor are my eyes haughty; I busy not myself with great things, nor with things too sublime for me.’

~

Question 2: “What happens when our ‘heart’ is ‘proud’?”

Answer: “We think we know more than God! Our ‘heart’ is another name for the ‘spirit’ that operates our mind and other ‘body parts’. When it is filled with ‘pride’, we are easily victimized by every evil that wants us to disobey Words of God.”

~

Question 3: “What happens when the ‘body parts’ connected to our ‘eyes’ become ‘haughty’?”

Answer: “We are so blinded that we cannot see how much Greater God Is than we are. We cannot ‘see’ the need to strive to be among ‘You are My friends if you obey My commands.’!”

~

Question 4: “Does St. Paul tell us how to use ‘body parts’ ?”

Answer: “1 Thessalonians 27-9 tells us about the proper use of ‘breasts’ and working for God with our ‘hands’: We were gentle among you, as a nursing mother cares for her children. . . You recall, brothers and sisters, our toil and drudgery. Working night and day (with our ‘hands’) in order not to burden any of you, we proclaimed to you the gospel of God.

~

Question 5: “Does Jesus warn us about improper use of ‘body parts’?”

Answer: “Matthew 23:1-12 is clear about other people’s ‘shoulders’ and ‘fingers’! ‘Jesus spoke to the crowds and to His disciples, saying, ‘The scribes and the Pharisees have taken their seat on the chair of Moses. Therefore, do and observe all things whatsoever they tell you, but do not follow their example.
For they preach but they do not practice. They tie up heavy burdens hard to carry and lay them on people’s shoulders, but they will not lift a finger to move them.’

May we all be blessed to put our ‘body parts’ in The Service of God, His Church, and our neighbors.
