What kind of “body parts” will we be in our nation’s “Body Politic”? #60.

We end up in one of two places forever! Many “body parts” in every nation’s “Body Politic” let our souls be stained by pride, envy, greed, gluttony, anger, lust, and sloth. Will we love ourselves more than God and our neighbors?

~

Question 1: “What are the ‘body parts’ in every nation’s ‘Body Politic’“?

Answer: “Jesus identifies these ‘body parts’ in every nation’s ‘Body Politic’ in Mt 23:1-12.

‘Jesus spoke to the crowds and to His disciples, saying, ‘The scribes and the Pharisees have taken their seat on the chair of Moses.’

~

Question 2: “Had the ‘scribes’ and ‘Parisees’ become ‘body parts’ of their nation’s ‘Body Politic’?”

Answer: “That is why Jesus told His followers: ‘Therefore, do and observe all things whatsoever they tell you, but do not follow their example.’

~

Question 3: “Every voter is a ‘body part’ of our nation’s ‘body politic’! Why shouldn’t we ‘follow their example’?”

Answer: “Jesus gives this reason! ‘For they preach but they do not practice.’

~

Question 4: “How do voting ‘body parts’ identify those who do not ‘practice’ what they ‘preach’?”

Answer: “We see what they all do! ‘They tie up heavy burdens hard to carry and lay them on people’s shoulders, but they will not lift a finger to move them.’ Those ‘heavy burdens’ include unnecessary bond issues, useless public projects, regulations, and rules that make people’s lives harder while providing no real benefits.”

~

Question 5: “Why don’t the ‘scribes and pharisees’ of every age love their neighbors enough to stop putting ‘heavy burdens’ on them?”

Answer: “Those kind of people make a living by putting ‘heavy burdens’ on their neighbors! Jesus explained those ‘parts’ of every nations’s ‘body politic’ in a few words: ‘All their works are performed to be seen.’

~

Question 5: “What does Jesus tell us to do when we see those who ‘widen their phylacteries, lengthen their tassels, love places of honor at banquets, seats of honor in synagogues, greetings in marketplaces, and salutations . . .’

Answer: “Jesus told those who meaningfully follow Him to not want to be praised by a title! ‘You have but one teacher, and you are all brothers. Call no one on earth your father; you have but one Father in Heaven. Do not be called ‘Master’; you have but one master, the Christ.’

~

Question 6: “Jesus also said we should ‘call no man ‘Father’. Why do Catholics call our priests ‘Father’?”

Answer: “We use that name ‘Father’ to respectfully address The Spirit of The Father Who lives in them. Those who reject Holy Vows of Poverty, Obedience, and Chastity cannot recognize The Power of Jesus to Ordain His Catholic priests with ‘the spirit of The Father’ living in His obedient Catholic priests.”

~

Question 7: “What kind of ‘body part’ of our nation’s ‘Body Politic’ did Jesus tell us we should be?”

Answer: “‘The greatest among you must be your servant. Whoever exalts himself will be humbled; but whoever humbles himself will be exalted.’

~

May every “voter body part” of every nation’s “Body Politic” be blessed to find and focus on those who “Love God and their neighbors as themselves.” enough to meaningfully be Public ‘servants’.
